What's Your Book Title?
Apparently, the title of the book has a lot to do with its ability to sell. The more I thought about this idea, the more I thought about how much what we call things matters.
DAY 31 of 31: Declare Your New Day!
"Rise and shine!" my mom would say, waking us up in the morning. And when we would pull the covers back over our heads, she would break into song, "Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory. Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory..." You can imagine how that went over! As annoying as it was for teenagers, the truth is, it signaled the beginning of a new day.
Day 30 of 31: Press into God's Word
Good morning wonderful friends! In searching for words for you today, God brought to mind a passage of scripture. How kind of God to show me ancient words that are active and appropriate for today. How kind of God, knowing that there are times when we are tired, and spent, to provide exactly what we need.
Day 29 of 31: Press Toward "Believe" - No Matter What
This morning I was reminded of one of the reasons I felt a press to do this "different march" - I was MAD! Stomping my feet, yelling at the air, punching' somethin', fed up, angry. Spiritual attack was in my neighborhood, so-to-speak and I wanted to do something about it!
Day 28 of 31: Press Toward a Different Spirit
"Well, that's different!" I remember the tone- the scrunched up look on my teacher's face as she evaluated my work then delivered her verdict. I really can't say it got any better when I grew up
Day 27 of 31: Press Toward Faith and Obedience
Faith and obedience go hand and hand. Faith is trust and confidence in God, and when we trust God and believe that He only wants good for us, we can be obedient to what He asks us to do
Day 26 of 31: Pray for a Pouring Out
I sat imagining what an outpouring of God's spirit would look like. And for a moment I could almost feel the water spray on my face as I approached the deluge. Under my breath I told God, "I want that!"
