Day 12 of 31: A chat with your soul about rest
We don't use the word "rest" much. These days we say we need a break, we can't wait for vacation, or we're taking a long weekend. But rest? Mostly we use that word when we're bugging our kids to eat the rest of their vegetables! That rest means, what's left. THAT is not God's rest.
Day 10 of 31: Siri killed Marco Polo
Just ask her... I did. She said, "Let me check. Marco Polo died in January 1324." I say she knows too much to be innocent.
Day 9 of 31: "In Him"
Do you have that crazy practice of asking God to give you a word for the year? I wasn't quite ready for mine for 2017:
Day 8 of 31: The enemy you see today...
The day we started #adifferentmarch I found out that most of March 2017 is called "Adar" in the Hebrew calendar. It captured my attention so I did a little research. I found out Adar is the month of "strength and power-a month to increase in joy". I. KID. YOU. NOT.
Day 4 of 31: Rushing Wind
I was recently at a mountain cabin sitting on the back deck when a forceful wind came out of nowhere. I was snuggled up under a warm blanket with my face to the sun. As the wind chimes played a pleasant tune, I heard a rustling of dead leaves.
Day 2 of 31: Weakness
Can you imagine gladly boasting about your weakness? What kind of job interview, eHarmony profile, or social media post would that look like? We learn from an early age to cover our flaws and compensate for our weaknesses, when scripture clearly tells us that our weakness activates God’s strength.
