I recently adventured to NYC with my friend, Lisa. We go during winter because it’s cheaper. It’s cheaper because it’s winter! We’ve learned the value of layers and Cuddle Duds. It was sunny our first morning when we emerged from the subway.

Seven years ago my husband and I went to Gettysburg, Virginia. The battle grounds felt ominous. The museum captured my heart as we explored pictures, relics, and letters home. One set of display cases caught my attention. Next to some pretty gnarly battlefield surgical tools, there were musical instruments.

"When the servant of the man of God (Elisha) went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no! What shall we do?”  “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 

About the time I embraced the "sure-footed" portion of this verse I was reminded what God was making me sure-footed for... the heights. While that sounds glorious for some like some scene from the Sound of Music, the heights are a little more than that.

One vacation my hubby and I decided we were going to drive a stretch of the BRP. It was early and we had the road to ourselves. The smoke on the mountains settled and made it beautiful for picture taking. And then suddenly and I mean SUDDENLY, we hit a wall of fog.
